Melodifestivalen, Deltävling 3

Here is my thoughts of the songs in the third semifinal of the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest.

1. Velvet – The Queen. I think this is the same disco-popsong I’vge heard at least a dozen times in Melodifestival the last three years. Somewhat catchy, but not good enough.

2. Rigo & The Topaz Sound feat. Red Fox – I Got U. “I got U. UUUUUU”: That’s about as much of the lyricsI could decipher. Other I quite like the sound: the melody, the drums and the Reggae-rap, or what you would call it.

3. Molly Sandén – Så vill stjärnorna. Nice voice. Boring song. She’s got a nice stage personality. Too much Carola about the whole thing, though.

4. E.M.D. – Baby Goodbye. Some people know who these guys are. I don’t. It seems to me like they’re straining their voices too much singing this song. The verses are strikingly short, and the chorus, though not bad, is not good enough to carry the song.

5. Mikael Rickfors – Du vinner över mig! Written by Thomas G:son, this song unleashes the entirity of his musical potential. Or, to put it another way, it’s crap. I should probably writeb something nice about the artist, but I can’t be bothered.

6. Maja Gullstrand – Här för mig själv. Another of G:sons songs . I can’t really comment on it as I slippede into a coma while listening.

7. Sofia – Alla. “Those that understood [it] smiled at one another, and shook their heads; but, for mine own part, it was Greek to me.” Nothing special, but this is the kind of mediocre melody that often proves popular among the populace.

8. BWO – You’re Not Alone. Good, but boring. I expect better from BWO.

All in all, not very good. The best song is Rigo & the Name Without End, followed by Molly Sandén and BWO, too close for me to comfortably decide which is the better.
